Illness:

Please contact the school as soon as possible on the first day of your child's illness.

See link below for guidance on infection control in schools and other childcare settings:

Guidance on Infection Control in Schools and other Childcare Setting

Medicines:

All prescribed medicines, including asthma inhalers and epi-pens/Jext pens which children may need at school must be handed into the school office. They must be clearly labelled with the child's name, contents and exact dosage required and must be accompanied by a form signed by a parent giving permission and clear instructions for their administration (copies of this form are available in the school office).  They must be collected from the school office at the end of the school day.

If your child has a more serious or long term medical condition such as a nut allergy, please ask for a healthcare plan which we need you to complete so that we have all relevant details about medication and care of your child.

Please refer to the following policy for supporting pupils with Medical Needs:

School Text Service:

Churcham offer a service that provides communication to parents/carers via their mobile phones.  For example, if the school is closed because of snow, parents/carers are notified by a text message.  This service is also used to send out text reminders to parents/carers about school activities, events or educational visits.  The service can also be used to inform parents if the children are running late from a school trip.

Please note that this service only works effectively if parents keep us up to date of any changes to mobile numbers.

Free School Meals:

You could be entitled to Free School Meals and a clothing allowance which can pay towards your childs school uniform and lunches. We have applications forms available or if you just want some advice, please pop into the school office.

For all Reception and Key Stage 1 children will receive a free hot meal at lunchtime.

Milk:

Free milk is provided in school for children in Reception year.  Free milk is also provided to children in Year 1 and 2 who are on free school meals.

Parents can pay for milk for their children who are not on free school meals in both key stages, see link below:
