We are lucky to have a designated Forest School area on site at the bottom of the field. Children get to explore, learn, and interact with the environment through hands-on experiences in all weathers.
Children get to follow their own interests and take ownership of their time spent at Forest School, whilst also developing their independence, resilience, self-confidence, teamwork and communication skills.
There are plenty of opportunities for risk taking, through which children learn to assess and manage risks safely. They learn the importance of respect and trust for themselves, each other, and the environment, and how this impacts the level of risk that can be undertaken safely.
There is always something to do at Forest School whether it’s helping with site management, bug hunting, getting muddy in the mud pit, building using the tools, cooking on a fire, pond dipping, or den building. There’s always fun to be had.
